Newspaper Tower

Walt: write a detailed introduction with hook and orientation.

Have you ever had a challenge called Newspaper tower Challenge?We were told the instructions and that it has to be the tallest in order to be the winner but we  only had 8 minutes.

Today we came in like normal but then we put our netbooks on a table.We got some materials which were the Newspaper,scissors and masking tape. We were In groups of 4-5 you are to construct the tallest freestanding tower you can possibly make. Our group name was team Rosalina in our group there was Lani , Rosa , Venetia , Presayus.

Our time started.First we had a plan and it was to make it a triangle but it had to be standing without leaning on anything and without holding it.Then we made a base for the triangle to stay standing.

Our time was up.there were only two groups were standing that was our group and Talita’s group. Mr goodwin was finding it hard to measure the towers so we used a ruler. In the end Talita’s group won.

For the last few weeks we have been learning about hooking an audience with our writing. We have also been marking each others writing.I hopes you enjoyed it!

Year 5/6 Camp

I looked at lesielis blog for some advice on how to write about year 5/6 camp. She could not to make cookies with Mr Jarmen and Going on the Hydro Slide at the Mangere Pools. Lesieli is mostly lokking foward to sleep in a Tent for the second time.

I am looking foward to another year at camp and my last year at camp.I am looking foward for how the acttiveties are going to be.I love camp.
