Title	Steps on how to be a good role model.
Introduction	What is a good role model, is a good role model someone who skips school or is it someone people looks up to for help. My role model is Fiao'o Fa'amausili when it comes to sports and my mum is my real role model.
Information 1st idea	What my role models sound like. My role models always sound encouraging and happy, My mum is always positive towards my school work and sports. To me, my role models should always sound like this.
Information 2nd idea	How does your role model act ?, what does a role model do? Role models consistently act there age and they are always kind to one another. They show a good example to the younger ones. They are proud to be who they are.
Information 3rd idea	Role models are constantly generous to others and always keep their promises. Role models learn over time to overcome obstacles. Role models learn to accept other people and their differences.
Conclusion	There are many role models within Pt England school. My role models at school are Mr Somerville and Whaea Kelly. Writing these simple steps have made me become a better role model.

Musical Madness YAY!!

                                              Musical Madness YAY!!

This morning we walked into the hall for immersion assembly with different music playing in the background. It all started with our senior management team who sang a song created by them called Musical madness, our theme for this term is Musical madness. My favourite teams to watch was 3,4,5. Team 3 made a movie were there teachers used music to talk to each other, their aim for this term was to tell stories using music. Team 4 teachers created a movie of them in a car singing to lots of music, their aim was to make their own music. The final team was team 5 they did an act about music in videos, the main idea was how do composers use music to evoke an emotional response in an audience . I hope that this term goes well because I am a year 8 and will be leaving to college.

Floundering Project!!!

Floundering Project!!!!!!!

I had no idea what flounder was except that you could eat it and that it was a type of fish. Flounder has spikes around the edges of its body and has a mouth bigger than it's eyes and has spots all over it's body.


Today our whole school went down by the Wai o Taiki Bay which is by our local beach. We had 12 kids from year 7&8 to try and catch at least 4 Flounder. We caught more than 20 baby flounder fish. We sang a few waiata and said a karakia to catch flounder

Happy Fathers day to all the fathers

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY. Happy Fathers day to all the fathers, I hope you had a great day yesterday and that you go spoilt. I celebrated fathers day two time I celebrated it on both Saturday & Sunday. On Saturday I gave my dad a lotto ticket pack. On Sunday I cooked lunched for my dad and family, I cooked mince and then I went out and got KFC. Happy Fathers Day!!!!!! 

Speeches!!!!

For the past 5 weeks team 5 have been looking at speeches and persuasive writing. During the 4 weeks we had to write a speech for a class competition. We had three people from our literacy class compete against 3 other people from 4 different classes.

We have our three speech winners that will be giving their speech at our school assembly.
1st place - Danielle
2nd place - Seini
3rd place - Venetia

These three will give there next week Friday at assembly.

This week we learnt all about 2D shapes. We learnt how to identify and describe it's shape.
